This is so satisfying to watch!! Almost everything about it is so perfect. That screen transition is so good.

It's also such a clever idea to have this animated "Let's Play" of a fictional game. And now I kind of want this to be a genre! Reminds me of "A Game By Its Cover" (https://itch.io/jam/a-game-by-its-cover-2021) or the "screenshot jam" NG did a while back (https://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1342155)

I liked it a lot! I can definitely relate to having trouble hydrating in the morning...

I feel like there were a few parts I wasn't fully sure if I got: was the dark hand towards the end just the irresistible pull of Discord? That doesn't seem so evil to me!

Also I the felt pain when the breakfast fell on the floor. Now not only do you not have a yummy breakfast, you have to clean up this big mess...

Next year? No!

That was amazing. Very nice animation, but most important, really interesting plot. You need to make more...soon!

Very relaxing game, and I love the cute little story you get at the end of each level! Feels like a fun reward to figuring it out.

I think I found a bug where arrow keys sometimes seem stuck (if one sheep is against a wall, I can't seem to move any further with arrow keys) but I can if I drag a specific sheep forward. I was expecting pressing an arrow key would move all sheep that can move in that direction.

Olivier-Guillaume responds:

I fixed the problem, thank you for helping me find it!

I'll update the game once the judging are finished.

In the meantime you can avoid the bug by maintaining the keys down a bit longer.

This game was super fun! I love everything about it. I love the art style and aesthetic. I love the physics-ode to Flash games of yesteryear. I love how it makes my heart race as the truck tumbles down the hill with all the pieces precariously hanging off, wondering if I'll make it!

The difficulty does ramp up pretty fast for me, the later levels look impossible to me! I think that's partially because I'm trying to go for a 100% score. Would definitely be fun to watch someone play this who can stack a lot on the later levels.

Pretty fun game! I love the idea of playing as a particularly important bit that if flipped crashes everything, and potentially dodging cosmic rays.

One thing that would be nice is having a bit of a learning curve, for example by starting with just the small particles that can be absorbed, then introducing the bigger ones etc. I initially thought I was just supposed to avoid everything.

An alternative control scheme that would be interesting to explore is if the particle just following your finger (but maybe has a limited movement speed), that way you have tight control over the character but still need to think ahead & quick.

ImmanentDeath responds:

Thanks! I hadn't thought of using a drag mechanic. I just made it one-button for simplicity, and it also lets PC players use the spacebar if they want.

This is beautiful! I love how it imbues these feelings of "optimism and purposefulness". Also welcome (back) to Newgrounds! Excited to see more of your work!

Arisharkina responds:

Thank you so much for an optimistic comment! I really appreciate it! <D

This is a pretty fun tune! I love the bit starting at 00:20. Feels very cheery and optimistic. I get a very "it's gonna be alright even if not everything is going the way you hope right now" vibe, which is much appreciated :)

fairything responds:

Oh my gosh, thank you so much!!! That's pretty much the headspace I'm in right now, so I guess you hit the nail on the head <3

This is definitely my favorite track in the game I think! It just has such an ethereal, otherworldly feeling.

I get creeped out every time I hear this and imagine walking through that intro 😅

This is beautiful! Thank you for sharing the detailed behind-the-scenes write up! I was wondering many of these questions as I often do when looking at work like this, and resigned myself to "ah, what's the point, I'll never the answer" and was absolutely delighted to read this. It even made me pay more attention to the piece, I hadn't thought about the book covers being blurred, or that the Monster cans were open vs closed.

My first thought when seeing this is that I was 100% sure you decided to look away very intentionally, either because you preferred to remain anonymous despite the self portrait or because you just didn't enjoy drawing faces. So that was a big surprise that that part was a bit of a lucky happenstance!

This is such an incredibly well done tribute! I love the use of color echoing back to the show. In that scene, the laptop screen was the only thing in color, the only remnant of Saul's past. Here, the chord being the only thing in color feels like the last thing Jimmy is desperately trying to use to hold onto that past. And that's very visible in his expression.

I also love the contrast of young, charming, Jimmy and disheveled Saul here. It just captures this last moment beautifully, when both we in the audience and Saul thought there was a small glimmer of hope of getting out on top, one last time.

This looks amazing! I appreciate the closeups too. There's just an amazing level of detail here. I love the lighting on Adam's right arm in particular. I admire how you're able to capture that feeling of fabric and texture here.

I absolutely love telling stories and it's more or less why I do everything I do, from making games, to teaching & writing.
