I liked how you allowed people to play with whatever button they liked.

I think your enemies are a bit non-intuitive though. When players see a smiling sun-like thing, they're inclined to grab it only to find out it's an enemy.

Some more things to collect/powerups would have been nice too.

I felt the game moved pretty slow though. With how the player was basically only pressing a button every 2-3 seconds. It just felt like a slow version of the helicopter game.

I did have fun though! So props on finishing a nice little game.

It's a sun! You don't fly into the sun!

I like your use of stealth for the mechanic. It was a pretty fun game.

I got pretty frustrated when the guards seemed to stop following the ball and I couldn't see any other way to pass the level.

I'm not sure if you added any more mechanics beyond that but some stuff to keep things interesting would be nice too!

Overall awesome work!

Just finished it!

Overall pretty awesome game. It starts a bit slow though. The first few levels were basically just hitting the keys until I finished a level. I felt like you should have introduced some challenges a tiny bit earlier on.

With that said, I *loved* the fact that there were multiple ways to complete a level. Really adds to the feeling of exploring forests/mazes. I also really like how my vision was limited until I explored more.

I'm guessing there was no time to add in a mini-map that got updated as you explored? That would have been amazing. I really think this game has a lot of potential with a few more mechanics and that mini-map, it would be a pretty intriguing puzzle/exploration game!

Also just to up the atmosphere up meeting some NPC's or finding lore around the game and collecting it would be pretty awesome as well.

I enjoyed this!

I think this is one of the nicer game jam entries. I liked it, although it could have been hundreds of times better if you had:

-Much tighter controls
-Respawning was semi-instant

I think these were my only qualms with this game. I only quit because I got frustrated, not at the difficulty, but at how I kept failing because of the controls.

thinking-man responds:

If I ever make a sequel, I will add those things.

Brilliant concept!

Fun, innovative and original, I love it!

I totally think this has tons of potential, I only quit when the letters stopped appearing. It was already pretty hard to focus and get it right, then it just seemed too hard.

You might want to experiment with the speed of raising/lowering the platforms, see if the game is more fun when it's maybe, four times the speed, or if it's just too easy then.

But yeah, good work! I enjoyed it.

Fun, but controls should be better explained

The fact that the game doesn't stop when a new rule is explained is annoying. I had to let myself die to read the message about not killing or eating the monster babies.

I think a small pause or popup should just show up to explain, and only show up if it's your first time playing.

It's a really small thing anyway though, but I enjoyed playing!

thinking-man responds:

thanks! but there is a large space between waves.

Awesome art!

It's a pretty fun game, just has a few flaws.

It took me a while to realize that I need to press the buttons depending on the arrow formations. I just thought those were stuff I had to jump over. Should have probably included a quick instructions screen.

Gameplay got old rather quick. There was nothing to keep me interested for a long time. I almost quit in the first level because I thought it was never ending. Adding some things to entice the players interest will surely bring the game's fun factor a lot higher!

Pretty awesome presentation

With an epic intro and everything! And I think this one had a lot of potential. You just didn't focus enough on the main gameplay mechanic. That is the combat system. If you had added more depth to it, like say, another attack and gave your AI a bit more depth then I think this game could have really been a ton better.

Pretty good

But a few suggestions:

The character moved too slow, if you had sped him up it would have been much better

Randomizing the "attacks" that come at you would have probably been a good idea, instead of you always expecting what comes when.

Also adding some high score API would have been really cool too!

Awesome puzzle game!

I really like the idea! The art is very nice as well and so is the music!

I always find puzzle games in game jams fascinating. Mine was going to be a puzzle game...but somehow ended up being action/platformer :P

Anyway, a very well done game, and I liked it.

I absolutely love telling stories and it's more or less why I do everything I do, from making games, to teaching & writing.
